Handy course gives top tips to help you mend your bike | Southend-on-Sea Borough Council‏

Bikeability Fix sessions this June will teach children and young people from nine to fourteen how to tackle punctures and keep their bikes roadworthy.

These basic maintenance courses are being held at Belfairs Academy, Highlands Boulevard, Leigh, SS9 3TG on Wednesday 1st June from 9:30am until 11:15am, and 12noon until 1:45pm.

They cost £10 per session and there is no need to bring along a bike or any other equipment.

Everyone who attends will receive a puncture repair kit to help them mend bike punctures at home.

The Bikeability Fix course, delivered by the Cycle Southend team proved a big hit recently with two local scout groups who learned how to check that their bikes were safe and repair a puncture, along with basic maintenance tasks.

Scout Leader, Terence Lewis said afterwards: “The scouts thoroughly enjoyed the evening and are looking forward to participating in future events such as the forthcoming Tweed Ride.”
