You might have not heard from us for a while small but your active group of local residents has been busy on the community allotment, running the Repair Cafe, attending community events this year and promoting all sorts of great things happening in Southend.
We might have been quiet but scientists continued to inform us about the climate emergency we are in, young people organised strikes and walkouts and the action of thousands in the global Extinction Rebellion brought the topic of climate and environmental crisis higher on everyones agenda.
We need imagination and action to tackle the issues in front of us and we will be supporting positive local ideas. See below:
Our friends at Trust Links are organising workshops to gather ideas for an application to the Climate Action Fund.
Local organisations, partners, and groups are invited to Trust Links’ Climate Action Funding workshops on the 30th November and the 3rd December.
We want to hear your opinions on how local communities can tackle climate change in South-East Essex. We are planning to make a bid for a Climate Action Fund from the National Lottery Community Fund, and we are keen to work with other local community groups to improve how everyone tackles climate change at a community level.
Lets see what brilliant ideas we come up with for Southend to address climate change.
