What might at Transition response to the refugee crisis look like?
It’s a question many people are asking, and it’s one that was discussed at the Transition Network conference a couple of weeks ago. Visit the Transition Network.org website for further information.

The next ‘What if’ event will be held on Monday 16th June upstairs at The Railway Hotel from 7 – 9. Our theme this month will be the dialogue between the present, the past and the future, and will feature ‘Reels of Resilience’ presented by our special guest James Taylor. This is a film show of archival documentaries from the 1930s and 1940s, encouraging the audience to find parallels between then and now. It will be more than just a film show, encouraging the audience to both observe and interact with the material, which shows ordinary people creatively adapting and responding to change and inspiration, and how these can speak to us now with the different challenges that we face.

Things are emerging from the What if… gatherings. Plans afoot re urban woodlands, plotters planning floral antics, and conversations happening about alternative education.
Who will you meet, and what will begin, at the next one…?
Using ideas, tools and techniques drawn from Appreciative Inquiry, Permaculture Design and other creative methods of group engagement, ‘What If?’ is a series of workshops, events and gatherings for anybody that wants to make positive change happen in their own life, their community or their world! Hosted by Graham Burnett (Spiralseed), Sherry Fuller and friends.
Join us the Railway for the next workshop and open space conversation. Sherry will be talking about the philosophical principles of Appreciative Inquiry; a way of ‘seeking that which gives life, in order to ignite the imagination of what could be’. This will be followed by the usual dialogue about the things that matter most to you.
Come along and be inspired!
Payment by donation. £5 suggested or what you can afford, would like to pay.
TELL YOUR FRIENDS!
Hang around for a pint afterwards in Southend’s best pub and live music venue. 🙂
