If you visit the Household Waste Recycling Centres during February and March 2016 you will notice some exciting improvement works that will provide a better recycling and customer experience.
Work will begin at Stock Road on the 15th February 2016 and at Leigh Marshes on the 29th February 2016, with works at both sites planned to be completed by the 18th March 2016. During this period the sites will continue to be open as usual.
The improvements will include:
- reducing waiting times
- Increased on-site parking
- Increased recycling provision
- Revamped site signage and line marking
Additionally, both sites will be equipped with new CCTV cameras and ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) in order to monitor the frequency of visits by all vehicles, to help identify unauthorised business waste and for the prevention of crime.
A new re-use scheme in partnership with a local charity will be provided. This will include a shop on the Stock Road site to sell items back to the community and a reuse collection service from Leigh Marshes.
The sites will be clearly signed whilst these works are underway and you will be given updates and direction from site staff, so as to avoid any potential confusion. Whilst we anticipate that there will be minimal disruption to visitors, we would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience which might be caused.
