Today was the first day of our Design 4 ACTION Permaculture Design Course at Morbeck Farm near Wickford with the One Love Foundation – when discussing the course with the organisers earlier in the week we decided that installing a wood burner in the portacabin classroom would be a good afternoon practical project, however it was actually the first thing we did this morning as it was so cold nobody could sit around for any sessions! Normally we start the course with some icebreaker/group bonding type sessions – this was a REAL icebreaker however, and a great design challenge/team building project as well as illustrating the need for flexibility and adaptability in the PDC curriculum… It took longer than expected and a few sessions had to get shunted, but I’m sure we’ll catch up – looking forward to day 2 tomorrow!
