Current Projects
New !Southend in Transition Food Co-operative
This has been talked about for a long time now in Southend and whoever hears the idea is supportive and excited about the possibilities it would bring for the growth of the local food culture and economy.
Meet with us on Saturday the 5th of May 12-15. We will combine the usual potluck at Growing Together gardens at Fairfax Drive with a planning session for the SiT Food Coop and start a working group going which will afterwards continue to meet up – driving the set up of the Food Coop forward.
As a Coop it will enable members to shape the future of local food in Southend and we need your ideas, time and skills to make it happen so you are very welcome.
Please get call or drop us an email if you are interested in using the Southend Food Coop in the future or if would like to join the working group.

Southend East Community Allotment – Southend in Transition and Organic Gardeners?
We have taken on a plot and plan to collectively work it. We are thinking of having a core group people working it once per week/month and the plot open then to local volunteers and the wider public as a productive, educational, inspirational and social space to learn about sustainable ways of growing, value of fresh food and just to be out in the fresh air together.
If you are interested to be in the working group or volunteer here and there or just wanted to visit when it is up and running let me know.
The Stock Exchange
aka Food Swap 10.00-12.00 in Metal’s Kitchen Garden, Chalkwell Park, Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, look out for the next one Sunday 13th May. Now also combined with a Yellow (Skills) Pages).

Transition News and Projects
The idea is simple. You imagine different ways in which a post-transition society might also be a better one, and then try them out as a real-life experiment during a 24 hour period starting at dawn on 20th June 2012.
Your suggestions will help us
