Enter the Oyster

Hi there

Kamil kindly invited me to post on the S-O-S transition blog, how could i refuse! So, let me tell you about the story of the Oyster Mushroom so far.

It all began with some innocent internet surfing a couple of years ago, coupled with the discovery of Oyster mushrooms in a local farm shop. I ‘digested’ the Oyster mushroom in all its glory and decided to have a go at growing them. To my surprise, the Oyster mushroom was as easy to grow as the experts said, and the fact dawned that this mushroom was capable of doing a lot of good things for human and environmental health, therefore, i had to get more deeply involved with the mushroom world as a way to contribute positively to society, with minimal negative impact on the biosphere.

So, without further delay, here are the pictures of my first Oyster Mushrooms. They tasted really good, especially the golden oyster, i cant wait for some more!
