Transition Gathering for East Anglia 26th Nov

Hi Fellow Transitioners,
We would like to remind you of the Transition
Gathering for East Anglia coming up next Saturday the 26th November, being
hosted by Transition Stour Valley at the Old Hall Community in the village of
East Bergholt on the border of Suffolk. Please let everyone know of this event
and any other Transition, or related groups. If you could email or phone to let
us know you are coming that would be helpful regarding numbers. Below are
details of the days events, along with the contact details.
Saturday, 26th November 

10am – 5pm
with an optional evening
of entertainment until 9pm
Old Hall Community
East Bergholt, CO7
Donations are invited towards the cost of the event. Parking available in
the Village Car Park, behind the Red Lion Pub. Enter Old Hall through the
pedestrian lych gate opposite the church. There will also be fun creative
activities for children and a children’s Book and Toy swap, so bring along any
you would like to swap.
  • 09.30 – Arrivals, re-unions and welcome
  • 10.00 – Mapping Activity. What Transition events and activities are
    happening and where. Your Transition successes and failures. Please bring
    information about what your group has been doing to share with others, perhaps
    as a poster, and examples of leaflets. If you are unable to come please send
    along information, in poster form and it will be displayed.
  • 11.00 – Morning coffee
  • 11.30 – Open Space discussion focusing on issues most significant to you.
  • 13.00 – Lunch. Please bring food to share.
  • 14.00 – Quest Game (child friendly)
    • or Tour of Old Hall farm.
    • or Informal regional networking.
  • 16.00 – Afternoon tea
  • 16.30 – Plenary, sharing ideas, views and plans.
  • 17.00 – Conclusion of formal gathering
  • 18.00 – Evening tea (remaining shared food, and hot soup).
    • Followed by informal social and ‘Open Mike’. Bring along your
      instruments, songs, stories and any other entertainments. Local village shop
      sells alcohol!
  • Additional activities for children include Graffiti art and a bicycle
    generator and don’t forget to bring along books and toys for the swap.
Buses run from Manningtree station (end of Station Approach) and will stop
outside Old Hall if you ask the driver nicely, at 09.40 (96), 11.40 (96) and
13.40 (96), its also a beautiful 3 mile walk on footpaths. Evening lifts can be
arranged back to Manningtree Train Station. There are also buses from Ipswich
and Colchester to East Bergholt.
